Bro. Ron Horton

Senior Pastor

Bro. Ron Horton has faithfully served as Senior Pastor of New Prospect Baptist Church since 1994. For more than 30 years, he has led our congregation with a heart for the Lord, a passion for preaching the Word, and a commitment to serving others.

A native of Winston County, Bro. Ron attended the Winston County School System and continued his education at Northwest Community College, Liberty University, Samford University, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and Andersonville Baptist Theological Seminary.

Bro. Ron has also invested deeply in Baptist life, serving a total of 12 years on the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions, as well as on various committees within both the State Board and the Winston Baptist Association.

Missions are a vital part of his ministry. Over the years, he has shared the gospel and partnered with churches and missionaries both at home and abroad, including Romania, Italy, Brazil, Guatemala, Venezuela, Guam, and many U.S. states. He has also co-hosted multiple trips to Israel, giving believers the opportunity to experience the Holy Land firsthand.

Bro. Ron and his wife, Renee, have been married for 45 years. They are blessed with a daughter, Ashley, and a son-in-law, Chase Frost. Their family also includes two beloved “fur babies,” Kitkat and Lucy.
